These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and That1Dev ("That1Dev", "we", "us", or "our") governing Pace Browser, its installers and updates, the Pace website, Addon Shop, release infrastructure, and optional first-party services such as PaceSync (collectively, the "Services"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Services, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
If you use the Services for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
Subject to these Terms, That1Dev grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use Pace Browser on supported devices you own or control for personal and ordinary internal business use. Pace is licensed, not sold. That1Dev reserves all rights not expressly granted.
Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not copy or redistribute Pace as a competing package; sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Software itself; modify or create derivative works of proprietary Pace code; reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract proprietary source; remove proprietary notices; bypass update-integrity, security, permission, pairing, or access controls; misrepresent a modified build as official Pace; or use the Services to attack, overload, probe, scrape, abuse, or interfere with first-party infrastructure.
These restrictions do not limit rights granted by third-party open-source licenses for Chromium, Electron, or other separately licensed components.
Pace's proprietary code, branding, UI, artwork, bundled themes, documentation, and first-party service design are owned by That1Dev or its licensors. If you voluntarily submit ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback, you grant That1Dev a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable right to use that feedback to develop, operate, secure, market, or improve Pace without compensation or obligation to you, while you retain ownership of any underlying material you already owned.
You must meet the minimum age required to consent to digital services in your jurisdiction and, in all cases, be at least 13. You are responsible for credentials used with Addon Shop accounts and all third-party accounts accessed through Pace. You must provide accurate information where an account is required and promptly secure or revoke access if you suspect compromise.
You may not use Pace or first-party Pace infrastructure to violate law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, distribute malware, phish, facilitate unauthorized access, stalk or monitor others without permission, defeat service security, send abusive automated traffic, or create/distribute malicious Addons. You are solely responsible for Content you access, download, upload, print, transmit, or cause another service to process.
Pace includes security and privacy features such as sandboxing, site isolation, permission controls, ad/tracker filtering, encrypted storage, update verification, security warnings, and optional encrypted synchronization. These features reduce risk; they do not guarantee that a site, file, Addon, download, prompt, account, device, network, or communication is safe, private, authentic, malware-free, phishing-free, tracker-free, ad-free, or uncompromised.
Blocking and security rules may intentionally allow or bypass certain requests for website compatibility. Threats and websites change faster than any static protection can. You remain responsible for endpoint security, operating-system updates, account recovery, backups, permissions, downloads, and decisions made in response to warnings.
The Password Vault encrypts supported vault records locally and keeps decrypted key material only while the vault is unlocked. A master password is not stored as plaintext. Optional operating-system authentication may provide a convenience unlock path where supported. Encryption and autofill are security tools, not guarantees.
PaceSync is optional. Online pairing and encrypted delivery may use managed infrastructure such as Supabase; nearby pairing may use your local network. You are responsible for pairing only devices and people you trust, confirming pairing information, removing lost devices, and understanding what each enabled sharing option does.
Pace Addons are extension-like code that may read or modify matching pages or use browser capabilities you grant. You are responsible for reviewing permissions, source/trust, publisher information, and behavior before installation. Sideloaded Addons are installed at your own risk.
"Verified," reviewed, featured, or Shop-hosted status means only that an Addon passed the checks described by Pace at the time of review; it is not a warranty, endorsement, continuous audit, promise of future behavior, or guarantee against vulnerabilities, malicious updates, data loss, or third-party misconduct. We may remove, suspend, restrict, or refuse Addons or publisher accounts for security, legal, operational, or policy reasons, with or without prior notice where appropriate.
Addon developers are solely responsible for their code, listings, permissions, privacy disclosures, legal compliance, support, and third-party rights. By submitting an Addon or listing, a developer grants That1Dev the rights reasonably necessary to host, scan, review, reproduce, distribute, display, and technically process it for Shop operation and security.
Sidebar apps are third-party websites embedded in isolated browser views. Their content, accounts, AI outputs, availability, moderation, retention, and data handling are controlled by those providers, not That1Dev.
Sidebar AI Site Data is a separate Pace-owned opt-in. On supported AI sidebar sites, Pace can attach the active normal tab's title, URL, and bounded rendered text to the prompt you explicitly send. Private tabs and Pace internal pages are excluded. Once you send a prompt, the third-party AI provider may process or retain the prompt and attached page material under its own terms. You are responsible for deciding whether you have the right to share that page content and whether it contains confidential, personal, regulated, copyrighted, privileged, or otherwise sensitive information.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, outdated, or unsafe. Do not rely on it as professional, legal, medical, financial, safety, or other high-stakes advice without appropriate independent review.
Pace displays third-party websites and may download, save, print, render, or transform third-party Content at your direction. You are responsible for verifying files, print output, destinations, page ranges, permissions, copyright, and any downstream use. Print preview, Save to PDF, downloads, Reader features, media controls, DRM playback, ad blocking, and compatibility exceptions may be affected by operating-system, driver, website, Chromium, DRM, printer, or third-party changes. Output may differ from what a website displays.
Fast Mode may make network requests while you type. Weather and sports cards may contact third-party data providers. Ad/tracker blocking can break sites or fail to block particular ads/trackers. DRM services can involve provider-controlled device provisioning and license traffic. These features are provided on a best-effort basis.
Pace can access websites, search engines, AI providers, streaming services, payment services, weather/sports providers, authentication systems, Supabase, and other third-party services. Those services are independent and governed by their own terms and privacy practices. That1Dev does not control and is not responsible for their content, security, accuracy, legality, availability, pricing, transactions, data practices, account actions, service changes, or losses caused by them. Links or integrations do not imply endorsement.
Pace may check for, download, stage, and install updates to improve security, compatibility, or functionality. Updates may modify, add, remove, disable, replace, or deprecate features, interfaces, compatibility behavior, APIs, Addon capabilities, themes, or third-party integrations. We do not guarantee continued support for any specific website, operating system, Addon, service, or feature. You are responsible for keeping Pace and your operating system reasonably current.
The Privacy Policy explains how Pace stores local browser data and how optional network features process limited service data. Security measures cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality or availability. If a conflict exists between these Terms and the Privacy Policy about data practices, the Privacy Policy controls for that issue.
You are responsible for maintaining backups, protecting devices and recovery credentials, evaluating downloads and Addons, using trusted pairings, reviewing autofill targets, securing third-party accounts, obtaining permissions to share Content, complying with laws and third-party terms, and the consequences of actions taken through your device or accounts. You bear the risk of using experimental, beta, sideloaded, compatibility, or third-party functionality.
Services may be interrupted, rate-limited, unavailable, delayed, changed, or discontinued. To the maximum extent permitted by law, That1Dev is not liable for failures or delays caused by events beyond reasonable control, including internet or hosting outages, cloud-provider failures, cyberattacks, platform or operating-system changes, certificate or DNS failures, labor events, natural disasters, governmental action, utility failures, third-party API changes, or service-provider restrictions.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS," "AS AVAILABLE," AND WITH ALL FAULTS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. That1Dev disclaims, to the maximum extent permitted, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, security, reliability, availability, compatibility, error-free operation, data preservation, and that defects, malware, trackers, ads, phishing, vulnerabilities, or unauthorized access will always be detected or prevented.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THAT1DEV AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND DISTRIBUTION PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES; LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, OPPORTUNITY, CONTENT, CREDENTIALS, ACCOUNTS, OR DATA; DEVICE OR SECURITY COMPROMISE; MALWARE OR PHISHING; UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS; FAILED SYNCHRONIZATION; LOST OR CORRUPTED VAULT DATA; ADDON OR SIDEBAR CONDUCT; THIRD-PARTY SERVICE ACTIONS; OR COSTS OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, That1Dev's aggregate liability for all claims arising from or related to the Services will not exceed the total amount you paid directly to That1Dev for Pace Browser during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Because Pace Browser is generally provided without charge, this cap may be zero. Where applicable law requires a greater minimum remedy or does not allow a limitation, that law controls only to the required extent.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless That1Dev and its contributors, licensors, and service providers from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable costs (including legal fees where recoverable) arising from your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Services; your Content, Addon, listing, or distribution; your violation of these Terms or third-party rights; your misuse of PaceSync, shared sessions, Site Data, credentials, or third-party accounts; or your intentional or negligent security misconduct. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by That1Dev's own conduct for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
You may stop using Pace at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to first-party online services, accounts, publishing capabilities, or infrastructure where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, service integrity, nonpayment, or material breach. Your local browser license terminates automatically if you materially breach these Terms and fail to cure where cure is required by law. Provisions that by nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, dispute provisions, and accrued obligations—survive.
We may update these Terms to reflect product, security, legal, or operational changes. The current version will state its update date. Where law requires advance notice or affirmative consent for a material change, we will provide it. Otherwise, continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Before filing a formal claim, you agree, where legally permitted, to send a written notice describing the dispute and requested resolution to the contact address below and allow at least 30 days for informal resolution. To the maximum extent permitted by law, claims must be brought on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in a purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. To the maximum extent permitted by law, any claim must be filed within one year after it arose or it is permanently barred. Mandatory consumer-protection, limitation-period, small-claims, or collective-action rights that cannot lawfully be waived remain unaffected.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the EULA/license documentation included with Pace, and any feature-specific terms presented to you form the agreement between you and That1Dev regarding the Services. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a reorganization, asset transfer, financing, or successor to the Services. Headings are for convenience only. Electronic notices and records satisfy writing requirements where permitted by law.
